Show of hands please

Hi all,

Less than four months now until our awesome adventure in Hawaii.

At this stage confirmed are: ChyLynn (@Chye_Lin) and her family; Erin (@musingbella) and her husband-to-be; Sharon (@dangrdafne) and myself (Amy; @FutureGirlNZ aka @Twi_Kiwi).

We would love to know if anyone else is thinking of joining us as we are now in serious discussion mode about accommodation, activities etc.

Could we please have an indication in the comments if there is anyone lurking out there who is possibly interested?

We appreciate that there have been loads of people who initially were 'possibles' and who are no longer able to come along due to RL commitments.... (tick as many as applicable) damn money, jobs, kids, debt... who planted the money tree, where is it, and why hasn't it fruited yet?

Rest assured, those of us who are going along will take on the task of enabling our tweethearts to live vicariously through us, we'll even have a cocktail or  two  ten for you while we're there ;-)

Thanks everyone,
Amy

TwiKiwi booked her flight too!

How exciting!

I just booked my flight as well.

I arrive in Honolulu on Friday 6th September at 9.30pm. I will be travelling back in time as I leave NZ on Saturday morning - that is always weird.

I depart Honolulu on Monday 16th September at 11.00pm to head back to the future and arrive home nine hours later, on Wednesday.

Just call me Marty McFly!

So far we have Sharon (dangrdafne), Erin (musingbella) and myself booked and confirmed, with several others that we know/think/hope are coming along (ChyLynn - yes, Charla - not sure).

Any other takers?

Next step - accommodation! I have no idea where to start with this and I know a few suggestions have been mentioned, so let's chat in the comments...

Dangrdafne booked her flight

Ok, so I took my first step towards my trip to Hawaii with all you lovely ladies. I booked my flight yesterday!

I will be arriving in Oahu/Honolulu (HNL) on Saturday September 7th at 5:49pm (to be exact lol) and leaving Oahu/Honolulu (HNL) at 10:50pm on Saturday September 14th.

I hope you will be joining me. The more the merrier!!

Now we just need a place to stay...

Hawaii trip is THIS YEAR! (almost)

OK so here in New Zealand 2013 is only 10 hours away...

The main reason for this post is to bring this blog back to life in people's Blogger timelines and remind you all that there's a trip happening in nine months... who's in?

It's almost like Hawaii is our baby and tonight, New Year's Eve, is CONCEPTION night.... hehehe
Since last time I posted I have had to change my plans, I won't be in the islands for three weeks after all, but the week of September 9th is TOTALLY ON. I am now hoping to go to Hong Kong to see some family on the way.

From memory, we have myself, ChyLynn, Erin and Charla interested [Edit: and SHARON!! So sorry I forgot... blonde moment!]. Can you please indicate in the comments if you're keen, so that we can start having some conversations soon about location and accommodation?

Happy New Year, bitches.

The Dates Are Set... It's On!

Greetings Twitards!

After much  procrastinating  discussion, the "committee" and I have chosen dates for the great Hawaiian adventure of 2013.

Drum roll please...

The week commencing 9th September 2013

...or thereabouts.

The current plan is to have a base somewhere on the main island, not too far from Honolulu but also nice and quiet with plenty of beach and plenty of cocktails (I believe @AllTwiedUp has some ideas on location) from which people can come and go as they please, whenever they please.

I am committing to being in Hawaii (and traveling around the islands) for three weeks, arriving the weekend of 1st September and staying until weekend of 22nd September. So, if anyone wasn't able to make it in the week of the 9th, or wanted to come longer than a week, you can always hang with me.

It was decided not to travel in August as in Hawaii the schools don't go back until September and therefore there would be troublesome young people around (tut tut) and considerably higher flight and accommodation prices. I'm sorry if this is a problem for anyone, but I'm sure you can understand we had to go with majority-rule.

So, get discussing, laideeeees! Who's adding plans to their calendars? Pennies to their savings accounts? *raises hand on both counts*

Hawaiian Twitards are GO!

Hi team!

When I saw that MusingBella had left a comment on the first post on this blog this morning, it reminded me that I feel a little advanced planning is required. That, and I am in the middle of what is supposed to be my summer holiday and it's cold and raining outside.

I would really like to narrow down a date and a possible location for our Hawaiian get together. Y'know, so we can start our engines countdowns...

I'm thinking July/August 2013 but would like some tips as to when is best... do we need to work around school holidays etc?

All suggestions welcome in the comments please. I am looking to form a Hawaiian Twitards Executive Committee with whom to make such decisions... so when we have more info, it will be posted here.

Meanwhile... get saving, team! There'll be plenty of Mai-Tais to be had...

Welcome!

 Hi!

If you've found this blog, you're probably aware there's been a wee bit of talk about the possibility of a Twitards trip to Hawaii in a couple of years. I set up a twitition a couple of weeks ago and several people have identified that they might be keen.

Now that you're all in a post-Forks funk, it's time to start thinking about the next twiventure!

I have no idea at this stage about dates, or duration, or location for that matter... I just thought Hawaii made sense, a little cheaper for those of us in the Southern Hemisphere to get to, and no passports required for American travellers.

So, start following this blog if you're keen, and we can keep talking more about ideas etc... let's make this a reality! Plenty of time to save $$$, and build excitement.

Oh., and if someone wants to help me pretty up this blog, feel free!
